Welcome to Jaws Scripts

This is a community of people who create and share scripts written for the Jaws For Windows (JFW) screen reader from Freedom Scientific.

The scripts are free to download and use. Any script available here is licenced under an MIT style license unless there is an individual license within it's folder.

For help and advice on creating scripts, the best place is the JAWs scripts email list, from blindprogramming.com.

Available Scripts

The first scripts in are:

• Case, a string match and replace script.
• scriptFinder, Allows one to jump to the source of the script attached to the key that is pressed.
• M-Audio?
• TC4 Conference?

If you've never used Jaws scripts before, find out how to use Jaws scripts.

If you find a problem with a script, you can submit a ticket, and a developer will (if you are polite and forthcoming) look into the issue and try and fix it. It is best to search for previous ones first though, someone else might have found the same thing.

Adding or Contributing Scripts

If you want to contribute to the Jaws Scripts repository, you will need to:

• Request an account.
• Know how to write Jaws scripts.
• Know How to use SVN.

You can then check the Project Browser for available scripts, edit them, and submit them back to create an update.

If you'd like to develop a new script, request a new project and a new 'script project' will be set up for anyone to try, and hopefully contribute to.
