I think ARIA is taking baby steps. I think they want to do it right and taking the time to think ahead - after all, it is a roadmap. :)

We can&#039;t help that IE7 and less doesn&#039;t support XHTML as application/xhtml+xml, but we can hope that support will come in the future.
